Saturday, June 7th, 10 AM

WeLoveVentnor hosts its "First Saturday" open meeting at United Methodist Church.

Ventnor Ave. at the corner with Melbourne Ave.

Matt Steinen of VERG will be guest speaker. Original plans were to prepare for a possible DEP hearing about the CDF location, but the meeting will share "news" about the most recent DEP e-mail to Matt.

Plans have evolved so that the presentation will discuss a creative new technology for handling dredge spoils with a portable processing system that simultaneously dewaters the spoils for removal. The issue of where to locate the portable equipment also has been investigated, to remove the impact on local roads and bridges of hauling dried/processed spoils to their final environmentally approved disposal site.

Balancing the dual needs of preserving habitat and of keeping waterways safe begs for creative thinking. Hats off to Matt for his investigation and creative thinking! All are invited to co-explore the options he found.
